The Canadian Elevator Manufacturers Association (CEMA) was formed in the 1960’s with the goal of bringing together the major global manufacturers and service providers of elevators and escalators within Canada. Its founding members at the time were Otis, Dover, Montgomery and Westinghouse.

In 1977, the National Elevator & Escalator Association (NEEA) was created and is the successor to the Canadian Elevator Manufacturers Association. NEEA continues to represent its member companies in collective bargaining, labour relations and other industry-related matters. Through acquisition, many of the Association’s original members have since evolved. Today, the members include KONE, Otis, Schindler and TK Elevator (formerly known as Thyssen Krupp).
